Privacy

What we collect

When you create an account we store your username, email, and password hash. When you use the site we may also store posts, comments, video uploads, live chat messages and images, reports, blocks, moderation actions, date of birth for the live chat age check (staff only), and basic technical data such as IP address and browser details used for security and abuse prevention. Ban notices may be emailed to a verified address.

Live chat

The always-open room is at /chat (login and age 13+ to post). Anonymous guests may post a limited number of text-only messages under the /live player. Messages are kept for about 90 days unless a report or moderation case needs them longer. Guest cookie tokens and IP keys are used only to enforce posting limits and abuse rules.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so you can stay signed in, and a kd_viewer cookie so video view counts can be tied to a browser instead of an account. The website loads a Google Ads tag on normal browser pages. The iPhone app does not load that tag. Sponsored placements in the app follow the admin App switch for each placement.

Affiliate program

If you join the Kart Video View Affiliate Program, we store your program choices and encrypted payout details so a payout can be sent. We store a W-9 status only. We do not store a tax identification number. A parent or guardian email for a 13 to 17 creator is encrypted with a separate key from sponsor verification answers. We log ad impressions and clicks to measure qualifying views. The program pages stay hidden until an admin turns the program on.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship balances. When a sponsor pays you through KartDen, the money goes to your own Stripe account, not to KartDen. You can cash out when your balance reaches the minimum cash-out amount, which is currently $5. Instant payout is a 4% fee and arrives within 15 minutes. Standard payout to a connected bank is a 2% fee and takes 1 to 2 days. If your balance is below the minimum, it stays in your Stripe account until it reaches the minimum. If your balance stays below the minimum for one year with no new sponsorship, it is forfeited, and KartDen may take it back from your Stripe account. A balance at or above the minimum is never forfeited and stays in your account for you to claim. We will send you a reminder by email before a balance is forfeited. Where the law requires us to treat an unclaimed balance differently, such as state unclaimed property rules, we follow the law.

Coach voice-overs

If you request a coach voice-over, we store the recorded audio while the video exists and for 30 days after the video is deleted, then we delete the audio. Order messages are kept for 12 months after the order is completed. Ledger and order money records are kept for 7 years. A rejected coach application is kept for 24 months. A parent or guardian email for a driver age 13 to 17 is stored encrypted. We do not store a card number or a bank account number. A view of a voice-over can store which voice-over was heard and how many seconds were heard. The coach cash-out minimum is $30.00.

Embedded video

If a KartDen video plays inside an iframe on another site, that frame stores an id named kd_embed_viewer in the browser storage for that site, and the view event stores that id with the IP address.

App options

On the app, push notifications and Face ID (or similar device unlock) are optional. You can turn them off in your device or app settings.

Feed preferences

You may optionally save feed preferences such as classes, surfaces, engines, and home country. Home country can appear on your profile unless you hide it. Classes, surfaces, and engines from feed preferences are never public. These preferences are erased when you delete your account.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share with

We share data only as needed with hosting providers, email delivery, and when required by law. We may also share information that is needed to investigate abuse or keep the service safe.

Delete your account

You can delete your account from Profile (Account tab in the iPhone app), then Login/Security Details, then Delete account. Type DELETE and confirm with your password. Your email and password are erased. Public posts and comments stay under your username. Push device tokens, block list entries, and feed preferences are removed.

Age

KartDen is for people age 13 and older.
