This backup superkart has a slightly more upright seating position, which is not so good for drag on high speed tracks, but it held its own. Exhaust gas temps rose each lap, so the throttle had to be pedaled to avoid seizing the pistons, which did not help lap times or top speed. A few good laps were still laid down. The kart was running 2nd, then finished 5th after pulling in with 2 laps to go. The motor was not hurt.
