On the first lap of practice, three DD2 karts run about 94 MPH down the main straight at Daytona. A series of shifter karts going about 110 MPH pass them. Everyone enters turn 1 and several of the shifters spin. Steve and Joe avoid one that stops in the middle of the turn. The narrator spins trying to avoid that kart and is ejected, with abrasions and bruises. The kart is not as lucky.
