Summer heat, dust storms, and high humidity had been poor for kart performance. After several weeks of that, the morning of August 10, 2013 felt more normal. For the first time in 4 weeks a few laps in the 45s were possible and closer to usual times. The tires were past their prime, especially the left front, and later in the day times stayed in the 46.1 and 46.2 range. The motor is running leaner than ever with a 50 pilot and 172 main, yet the plug still looks a tad rich, which makes proper tuning difficult. It was still good fun and the quickest among the drivers at the track that morning. A piston and ring change is planned this week if time allows, since that could be part of the issue. The kart is a 2012 CRG Road Rebel with a 2001 Honda Stock Moto engine, SKUSA tires, and a GoPro Hero 3 camera.
