Does being bound up ever make the kart feel loose?
The change that actually matters is recognizing when hop is the chassis fighting itself rather than a lack of rear grip. Bind can lift the contact patch enough that the kart steps out or slides even though the setup is already too constrained, so opening bars or narrowing the rear just makes the next lap worse.
Has anyone else seen a kart that hops mid-corner and then feels loose on exit, and did tightening anything actually calm both? I would start with the seat stays before track or caster.

Widen the rear in small steps until the hop stops, and do that before you change a bar or a stay. A kart that is narrow at both ends will feel unstable so this is the check that shows whether the slide is just a missing rear platform.
It also answers the loose feeling: if the kart is tight on entry and extra steering goes in, the rear can let go on the way out even though you shouldn't free the chassis up. Generic width advice for the brand can wait when the driver and seat are not the ones it was written for. If the rear is already at the legal limit, this check is over.
