Bent axle trouble, any advice?
Ive got a pair of 40mm axles around 1040mm long that ended up slightly bent, maybe a few mm out on one end. From what I understand a bend like that can throw off the whole driveline alignment pretty quick, but Im not totally sure how much is still usable versus scrap. They were decent medium and hard ones so Id hate to just write them off if theres a realistic fix. Has anyone dealt with straightening something in this size range, or is it usually not worth the effort?

A little bend like that is common enough and does not automatically mean scrap. Most axles in this size can be brought back true unless they are truly mangled beyond ordinary use.
Spin the axle and mark the high spot, then give that side a few solid hits with a rubber mallet. That is usually enough to knock it back into line without any fancy gear.. Check it again after and you will know if it settled.
If you would rather hand it off, ask around the paddock for someone local who straightens axles. CKT Racing and PKT Axles both do this work if you need to send it out.
