Trying to win mom over on starting Karting
yeah mom is the one i gotta get past if i want to start karting. dad dont mind but she only puts money on stuff that has a use like a tractor that actually cuts hay. how do you even show her racing isn't just burning cash, maybe if she saw a race she would get it?

haha this is hilarious. I must admit... maybe show her some of the prize money. There is a race in South America that I seen paid $20,000! Or maybe the Moms wanna just see you smiling. So SMILE big to win mom over!

Karting only makes sense as hobby spending, not as an investment that leads anywhere bigger. Someone who only puts money on things that actually do a job is not going to buy the future racer story.
Write the season out on paper first. Get real numbers from the local club for a handful of events, tires, fuel and the likely repairs, then show how you'll cover a chunk of it with chores or a job so it's not all coming from her. That's what makes it look serious instead of another expensive ask.
The part that has a use is how it makes you handle pressure and own what happens when things go wrong, skills that actually show up later in school and work. Take her the plan before you take her to a race or she'll just see cash going up in smoke. Start small the first year too otherwise one blown engine weekend confirms everything she already thinks.
