Rental Karting, better go-karts rare on grade 1 tracks

Rental chassis are specified around repeated barrier impacts, which usually means extra frame and bumper mass plus high torsional stiffness so the tubework does not yield. On a tight indoor circuit that tradeoff is obvious. On a Grade 1 layout with wide runoff you rarely need that impact structure, yet you still carry the handling cost. Kart cornering depends on controlled chassis flex to manage contact-patch load. A very stiff, heavy rental frame with an industrial four-stroke on it resists the twist that would unload the inside rear and let the kart rotate, so lateral load concentrates on the outside front. That is why these machines understeer and consume front tires even on surfaces that are not particularly abrasive. Softer, lighter rental designs and purpose-built air-cooled singles exist in principle, so I am not sure why outdoor Grade 1 fleets still standardize on the crash-proof package: fleet economics, or a handling constraint I am missing?
