Passing techniques full breakdown
I've been trying to get more consistent at passing and from what I understand a big part of it is setting the move up a corner or two earlier so you control the line into the braking zone instead of just lunging late. Honestly I still second-guess myself a lot on whether to commit to the inside or hold a wider entry, and I worry about forcing someone offline. What has actually worked for you when you're trying to make a clean pass stick, and do certain types of corners make it way easier than others?

The cleanest passes start well before the braking zone. If you are quicker through a corner than the fellow ahead, ease off just enough to get a stronger exit and close the gap on the way out. That puts you in control of the line into the next corner instead of simply following him through it.
You do not need to beat him all the way to the turn-in. Getting alongside before the apex with slightly later braking is usually enough to claim the line without stuffing anyone offline. Looking for spots where the other driver is not expecting pressure works better than a late dive ever will..
Desperate lunges at the last second put both of you at risk and rarely stick. Confidence running close to other karts just comes with practice and time. Stick to the setup and the fundamentals and the clean passes start to fall into place.
