The remaining time, once the driving is already sound, is rarely spread around the whole lap. It sits in one phase of one corner, and treating it as a general setup or confidence issue is how people stop making progress. I am not sure whether to start with a different entry in that corner, a logged comparison, or a single chassis change. Touching more than one of those at the same time hides which change actually produced a difference. Does that time usually come back if you leave the kart alone until the corner is isolated, or does the kart need a change first?
