Fit is the part that actually matters once a series requires a collar. A ring that sits too high or too thick will limit how far you can turn to pick up a kart on your inside, and that is a real problem on a tight club circuit. Whether foam collars reduce neck injury in karting is still an open question. The crash loads are not the same as in a car, and a poorly placed collar can also interfere with the helmet rim. I am interested in how people are choosing and fitting them when the rulebook leaves no option to skip them.
